Location:

It is located in the city of Ameca, on the central region of the state of Jalisco, 93 kilometers from Guadalajara, the state capital.

Staff:

The factory receives its raw material from 5,800 sugarcane-plantation owners, which are either commoners or small freeholders of a total of 13,500 hectares. It permanently employs 405 people during the harvest season, and 337 during the off-season repairs and maintenance.

Sugarcane:

During the 15/16 harvest season, between December and May, the mill grinded a total of 1'161,087 tons of sugarcane. Daily, 290 sugarcane-loaded trucks are received, and the mill has a grinding capacity of 7,200 tons of sugarcane per day.

Results:

In the 15/16 harvest season, the mill produced:

• 774 tons of sugar per day
• A total production of 134,022 tons of sugar
• 96% of which is white sugar, and the rest is regular sugar.
• 46,360 tons of uncrystallizable sugar
• 5,400 tons of compost
